Pre-Wear Wig Activation Guide
Thank you for your order. Before wearing your new wig for the first time, we recommend following these simple steps to activate the hair and restore its natural shape after shipping compression.
First, inspect your wig
After receiving your product, check the overall appearance, hair texture, lace area, cap shape, and style. If the wig already looks well maintained and ready to wear, no extra activation is needed.
For curly or wavy wigs
- Shake: Remove the wig from the packaging and gently shake it to loosen the hair and help the curls expand.
- Dampen and refresh: Lightly mist the wig with water, or wash it according to the care steps below, to help revive the curl pattern.
- Shape and dry: Gently scrunch the hair with your hands to define the curls, then let it air-dry completely on a wig stand or in its natural shape.
For straight wigs
Lightly smooth and style the hair with a flat iron on low or medium heat. This helps remove packaging kinks and restore a sleek, natural look.
Care Instructions for Your Wig
To preserve the beauty, softness, and longevity of your wig, please follow these simple care steps.
1. Cleaning
- Use lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild, pH-neutral shampoo.
- Submerge the wig and gently wash by running your fingers through the hair from top to bottom, as if detangling.
- Avoid rubbing, scrunching, twisting, or pulling the hair while washing.
2. Drying
- Gently wrap the wig in a towel and press to remove excess water. Do not wring.
- Lay the wig flat on a dry towel and use a wide-tooth comb to restore its natural shape and curls.
- Let it dry flat until semi-dry, then hang it to finish air-drying at room temperature.
- Keep it away from direct heat, direct sunlight, and hairdryers.
3. Styling
Style the wig only when it is completely dry. If using heated tools such as a straightener or curling iron, always use a low or medium temperature and handle the hair gently.
For new wigs: removing manufacturing odor
One gentle wash following the cleaning instructions above is typically enough to remove any initial odor from a new wig.
Additional tips
- Store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use to help maintain its shape.
- Handle the wig gently, especially when wet, because the hair is more fragile during washing and drying.
- With proper care, your wig will keep its softness, lightness, and beautiful appearance for longer.
